Nelson Gomez
Supernature
Nelson Gomez is the weekly host and creative force behind "Supernature", which airs exclusively at 10pm both Friday and Saturday nights on WJZP Portland's Downtown Groove. Nelson is a bona fide wizard on the wheels of steel with a monumental mass collection of vintage vinyl dating back to the 1950's. The title of his show is derived from the title track to French disco drummer and beat master Cerrone's 1977's dance floor filler "Supernature". This late 70's staple indeed represents the signature sound and musical embodiment of Nelson's show, which provides WJZP listeners with an authentic mix of classic R&B, Disco Funk, Latin Rhythms with the occasional salute to old school Hip Hop .
Rebecca Kingsley is an American born singer, songwriter and performer who's smooth and delightful mix of Latin, R&B, and Jazz rhythm recordings have received both national and international acclaim. Kingsley was born in Portland, Maine and studied Jazz Voice at the New School For Jazz and Contemporary Music in NYC. In 2011, she graduated from Eugene Lang College and has recorded three albums since then. Rebecca left an indelible mark on Portland's community radio landscape during her time as general manager for WJZP. In fact, she did a lot of work to strengthen our station's notoriety both nationally and globally through her conception of wjzp.org and hosting a series of live shows at the Portland House Of Music. It was at the PHOM where she dazzled all in attendance through her stunning excellence as a sensual songstress and smooth ability as an emcee. WJZP will forever be indebted to Rebecca Kingsley for her outstanding service including all the amazing moments she gave us live onstage.

K2 hosts "Jazz Brunch", which airs every Sunday morning at 11am on 107.9FM and wjzp.org, Portland's Downtown Groove. Her expertise brings exuberance to JZP's programming through K2's super interpretive, narrative breakdowns of classic recordings from the swing, bop and cool eras of jazz.
Jazzy K2 started listening to Billie Holiday and Al Jarreau which she was 9 years old. These two artists cemented her love of jazz above all other music genres.
Jazzy K2 lived on Munjoy Hill before it was cool to live there. She loves to volunteer to "pay it forward" by snow shoveling for the elderly, helping her neighbors with gardening, and provides affordable housing by maintaining her own property.
